Hayley Dixie, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Hayley is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who has worked in psychiatric nursing since 2018. Hayley’s passion for mental health care is shaped by both her professional and personal experiences with mental health. Having navigated an eating disorder throughout her teens and early adulthood, as well as growing up witnessing the impact of mental health conditions within her family, she gained a firsthand understanding of how mental health challenges can affect not only individuals, but also the people who love and support them. These experiences helped shape her desire to provide compassionate, judgment-free care and create a space where clients feel comfortable being open about what they are experiencing.

Hayley has experience working with both adolescents and adults in inpatient psychiatric settings, including individuals experiencing eating disorders and other complex mental health concerns. She also completed a psychiatric consultation-liaison internship within a large hospital system, caring for patients experiencing mental health concerns in medical, emergency, and outpatient settings. She has a special interest in eating disorders, depression and anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, young adults, and women’s mental health.

Hayley takes a warm, collaborative, and individualized approach to care. She believes that getting to know the person behind the diagnosis is just as important as understanding their symptoms. She wants clients to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and being honest about what they are experiencing without fear of judgment. She also believes patients should understand their diagnoses and medications and feel like active participants in decisions about their care. When it comes to medication management, Hayley takes a thoughtful approach and works collaboratively with clients to determine what makes sense for their individual needs, goals, and circumstances. Most of all, Hayley wants her clients to know that they do not have to have everything figured out when they walk through her door. She strives to create a space where people can show up as they are, ask questions, and feel respected throughout the process.

Outside of work, Hayley enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants (especially hole-in-the-wall spots), and traveling. She also loves a good thrift find and is passionate about health and wellness.
